In this first video, I go over some basics of the Ableton Live environment, and one way, using drum racks, to add more expressive control over audio cues for triggering sound playback in live theatre.
In *part two* of my mini-series on using Ableton Live for theatrical sound design, I go over using "automation clips" (sometimes called "dummy clips") to control volume and expression as a sound file plays (i.e. to create fade-ins and fade-outs).
